WHAT IS OR WHO IS

NOISELAB STUDIOS?

NoiseLab Studios in reality is at present a fictional company. With big business which includes the major record companies, much of the artists original ideas and forms of expression are too often lost when having to go through the channels politics of the industry. This is all to evident when those top named artist themselves elude to the stranglehold that the record companies put on their creativity. So then what is NoiseLab Studios?

From the earliest of the beginnings of the noisemakers, I was fascinated with the process of recording. Though naive at the time (and still am as many might say), the first experience of going into a recording studio taught the complexities, joys and sorrows that recording can bring. With the process I learned how good or bad one really is (you can't hide anything after it is recorded), and it also brought to mind the need to bring the art of recording down to a more personal level. I'm sure everyone would agree that when an artist first writes a song, what he or she hears in their head is how they would like it to be on a recording. Most too often something though gets lost in the translation. Many factors come into play that cause this, personal circumstances, nerves, or whatever, these all contribute to the alteration of the artists original idea. Sometimes though it may work out, but most of the time the artist is left wondering "What Happened"?

Wouldn't it be great that an artist could come up with an idea, then get it on tape or recorded in the shortest amount of time this preserving the original feeling or idea that they were trying to convey? In most cases in the past, by the time they got around to getting others involved, making arrangements to get it recorded, getting finances available, and just being in an intimidating recording studio, their whole idea has become influenced by other factors. Alas, here came the Home Recording Revolution!

As an artist, I began experimenting with recording starting out on a mere 4-track cassette. As time went on, with help from other more knowledgeable people, I began to learn the art and all the tools needed to enhance a recording. Some bad recordings came about. Though quality was not on par with the rest of the industry, the ideas were starting to come across. Though strange as these ideas seemed to be at the time, to my amazement 15 or so years later they have become the norm today. Others though are still too weird for this weird world that we live in - but give it time - the world is getting stranger all the time! After years of recording and experimenting with analog from 4-tracks to 12-tracks, now the digital age has now been thrust upon us. NoiseLab Studios is now riding along that wave and too is experimenting with all that it has to offer. So in reality, NoiseLab Studios is a home recording studio that followed me wherever I was. Though in the past I have recorded other artists and produced copies via CD or cassette tape, at present I focus on the Noisemakers' material and the publishing of it and others via the Internet. For everyone now who has their own home based recording studio in reality can be their own lab, to make their own noise without distraction or interference thus preserving the original feelings and ideas that they had all along. With the explosion of these home based operations and the access of publishing on the Internet, may all of your ideas and creativity come to the fore as has never been possible to do until now!
